OVERVIEW
The writer Liev Tolstoy was not so known in Brazil for his publications for children, yet he dedicated a good part of his late-life to addressing this young audience. In this second collaboration with the Chilean illustrator Gonzalo Cárcamo we selected stories that depict the wisdom and rural culture of the Russian people through the eyes of Tolstoy.
As my mother, Tatiana Mariz, a professor of Russian literature, and I worked on the translation and adaptation of the stories for the young Brazilian public, Cárcamo created stunning illustrations with his watercolor mastery.
I designed this book during my period at Estúdio Versalete, with support and valuable advice from my partner Christiane Mello.
